ArkX Labs Audio Engineering Services
If your voice-enabled project needs a complete audio solution, fine-tuning, integration, or just validation and certification assistance, our experienced team of engineers, developers and audio specialists bring the skills, technical know-how, and the tools to ensure your success. Our wide range of custom mechanical, acoustic design, software and optimization services can save you non-recoverable development costs, while accelerating your time to market. As an official Cirrus Logic “Professional Services Partner” we can make sure everything gets done right – every time.
Evaluation and Integration Support
To assist with continued testing and integration options, ArkX will provide audio/acoustic, hardware and/or firmware engineering support on a time and materials basis to allow evaluation to be more complete. ArkX Labs engineers will advise on system level design as well as detailed aspects of hardware and software to realize a robust design and user experience.
- Phone and email support for ArkX EveryWord™ Development kit
- Performance and system
design guidance - Electrical, power, firmware,
and/or acoustic design guidance (in combination of disciplines as needed)
Microphone Integration and Tuning Guidance
To achieve optimal far field voice performance, a preliminary tuning profile and spacing recommendations will be created in support of this program. Note: this is NOT a final tuning profile which will require final hardware and firmware and consists of much broader engineering tuning session.
- Sound Clear Studio evaluation and support for ArkX EveryWord™ enabled product
- Performance and system design guidance
Audio Benchmarking
The objective of this service is to develop an upper and lower performance boundary for speaker fidelity (may include frequency response, dynamic range, distortion (THD, HOHD) etc.) and microphone acoustics (may include frequency response, acoustic seal performance, speaker to mic coupling, etc.)
- Loudspeaker and microphone characterization
- Microphone acoustic seal and coupling analysis
- Final test report
Far Field Voice Benchmarking
The objective of this service is to characterize competitive devices for future comparison to client device performance.
- Device-level far field voice characterization - AVS measurement (FRR, FAR, RAR, etc.), SER measurement, Microphone frequency response and sensitivity testing, Mic. vs. speaker couple measurement
- Generate and review final test report
AFE Software Porting
The objective of this service is to implement (port) AFE module firmware into client’s current, functioning software stack and target host processor, validate and test the porting and document the implementation. This work assumes the client’s hardware and the AFE module hardware are directly connected to the client’s host processor via an approved interconnect method (e.g. I2S) and the client’s Linux kernel version supports the baseline features.
- Loudspeaker and microphone characterization
- Microphone acoustic seal and coupling analysis
- Final test report
Hardware Development – Custom Microphone Board
The objective of this service is to define a custom microphone hardware solution to compliment client’s existing industrial, electrical and mechanical design. This work assumes the client’s mechanical hardware solution has space allocated to accommodate a custom mic array solution, a rough board outline is determined and necessary space is available to interconnect this solution back to the client’s main board. ArkX will deliver a schematic, bill of material and, PCB data package (board construction document, ODB++) to the client. It is the client’s responsibility to source components, PCB fabrication and assembly
- Mechanical, Electrical and PCB Layout Engineering
- QA/Test Validation
