Lomar Incorporates ArkX Labs Far-Field Voice Capture to Hands-Free Patient Solutions
Lomar, a leading medical accessory and infrastructure provider, launched its new advanced in-room patient care solution using ArkX Labs EveryWordTM far-field voice capture technology. The new nursing station systems allow patients to communicate freely, naturally, all hands-free, with the medical and healthcare staff outside of the room. Lomar has now successfully installed 100 systems in healthcare facilities in Europe.
After extensive testing, Lomar incorporated the EveryWord AFE DSP module, powered by Cirrus Logic technology, to enable superior human-to-human performance that significantly outperformed existing OEM solutions. Lomar nurse-calling station systems are now able to capture and clearly transmit voice from across the room at > 9 meters, 3x the distance vs. standard far-field solutions, in noisy and reverberative hospital environments and has the unique ability to identify and suppress competing noise sources.
“We are very proud of our next generation patient care solution,” said Riccardo Sandrini, R&D Developer. “ArkX Labs far-field voice capture technology allowed us to deliver a superior product that will have a positive impact for both patients and healthcare staff.”
Yukuh Tung, VP at ArkX Labs added, “Working with our European sales partners, Redtree Solutions, we were able to help Lomar bring enhanced voice capture and control capabilities to their innovative nurse calling stations. Incorporating the ArkX Audio Front End module in their systems allows Lomar to create a high quality, natural voice interface that provides enhanced security for patients and greater efficiency for caregivers.”
